Question
hi there,

i am just wondering if you could help me out. i am 25 ad just starting back into rugby after almost 8 years off. i have had a few surgeries on my right knee and finally am back in full form to tak on the game again, according to my physio and doctor.

i really want to improve on my speed, i used to be very quick when i played and am looking to get it back but i still seem to be falling behind in my sprints at training. i am looking to play the wing, i am 180cm and weigh about 14 stone, i have lost a fair bit about 2 stone, since oct 2010.

i need to know what would the best exercises be to become faster, i am still loosing weight but they currently play me at 6 or 7.

hope you can help, thanks for your time

john

Answer
I would try to find a proper athletics coach or trainer. Maybe over summer join an athletics club with a good coach. Make sure you get a prooven pro not an amatuer.

Otherwise go to Google and search:

plyometrics exercises for speed

And take your pick of options.

Good luck.
