what position is best for me?

Question
I am 13, 13 stone, 5ft 12, big built, strong, quite fast, fearless, powerful and quite fit. What rugby position do you think will best suit me.

Answer
Hi Arron,

It is hard to say without putting you through your passes. Rugby is a game for all body shapes so mere measurements don't make for an absolute answer.

I suggest picking a position you feel best represents you. There are some prop-looking centers in rugby and some lock-looking wingers. Don't let your size or appearance dictate your position.

Also understand that players often change positions during their rugby career a few time before settling in. It makes for better over all game knowledge as well.

I started at lock, then prop, then flanker, then prop and hooker, had a go at #8 and even half back once.

You choose and do your best and be open to learn and change.
