ASA Softball: Outfield Positioning Rules for 10U Games
Question
Just curious, I coach 10U Girls Softball. Is there an ASA rule that states that the outfield players must be in the grass or a certain distance away? I can't find anything about it in the book, however everyone seems to tell me that. Any help is appreciated.
Answer
Hi Chris,
the rules only require that all defensive players except the catcher must be in fair territory at the time of the pitch.
You could put all your players between 3rd and 2nd if you wanted to, or everybody in left field.
so no rule against where they play
