MLB Interference Rule: Batter Called Out - Rule 8, Section 7 Analysis

Isn't there an exception in the ASA rule book that would apply to this situation where the batter is also called out?  

Rule 8, Section 7, J 1,2,3.  The note after R8-S7-applies to 8-7-J and  the Exception after that says "If the interference prevents the fielder from catching a routine fly ball, fair or foul, with ordinary effort, that batter is also out.  

I am just learning the rules, so maybe I am not interpreting them correctly.

Runner on third runs into third baseman trying to catch a foul ball. Who should be called out runner or batter and is it a dead ball situation?

Barry,

The player committing the interference is always the one called out unless they are already out or have scored.  If they are already out or have scored, the lead runner is out.  Also interference is always a dead ball.

So in your situation, dead ball runner on third out.

Absolutely you can have interference where two are outs are called.  You will rarely see either one.  The situation you describe.  You can also have situation where the interference is judged to be an attempt to break up a double play and have two outs called.
