QUESTION: The local ASA coed slow pitch softball league is telling a player that she can't
use a girls fast pitch bat, according to ASA rules. I think they must think a fast
pitch bat is an advantage in slow pitch. I think they are wrong. Is it allowed?

Answer
Hi David,

I see I missed putting bat after softball in my 1st answer sorry.

There is no such thing as a fast pitch bat, or a modified bat or a slow pitch bat (other than the manufacture's advertising on them) legal for only those games.  A softball bat approved for ASA play is legal in any ASA softball game.

Tell the local league to read 3-1-a-k to show where it mentions any bat for any specific game.  They're just wrong, they all test the same limits for approval.
