ASA Softball Rules: Automatic Outs with 8 Players

how many automatic outs do you have to take if you are only playing with 8 players?

Hi brent,

In ASA fp beginning the game shorthanded you would take an out in the 9th position.

If you're talking sp, under strict ASA play this would not be allowed as you may only begin or finish the game w/ 1 less than required to start and this would be 10, and the game would be a forfeit.

if it's a local league rule that you can play 8 in sp my vote would be for 2 outs in the 9th and 10th position, but then again my vote doesn't count.
