Hit by a throw

Question
Here's the scenario I am on first base of a ASA mens slow pitch softball game no outs.  The hitter behind me hits a hard grounder to the shortstop and he throws it to the second basemen who steps on second to get me out as I am running to second.  Now heres when it gets fishy....  The second basemen then tries to throw the ball to first for the double play but instead hits my left hand as I am still in the baseline.  The ball never reachs first base.  Is the guy runniong to first out because i interfeared with the play???

Answer
Hi Brandon,

This is interference from your description as the fielder must be given the opportunity to execute the play.  Interference in this situation does not have to be intentional and your being in the baseline is not a consideration.  You have to allow F6 the opportunity to make or complete the throw, you must vacate any space needed.

Since you were already out when the interference happened the runner closest to home would also be out.  That may be the b-r or it could be someone else.
