Baseball Rule: Defensive Coach on Field - What Happens?

Question
QUESTION: This happened the other day. Defensive coach and scorekeeper on third base side in live ball territory. Ball hit in their direction. What are the possible outcomes? Umpire did not notice they were on the field and didn't make any call except foul ball.

ANSWER: Hi Scott,

If they did not prevent a defensive player from making an out (such as being able to catch a fly ball in foul territory) we have nothing but a foul ball and move them back into the dugout or other dead ball territory.

QUESTION: What if there could have been a play and they interfere with the third baseman(their player) catching the ball(a hit?), the ball hits them or a slow roller hits them that could have rolled fair?
Thanks
Scott

Answer
Scott, Gosh I'm sorry!!! I misread the question, somehow I read offensive not defensive, senior moment????---forget my answer, about interfering with a defensive player.

If a batted ball hits them in foul territory we just have a foul ball and move them back into the dugout or other dead ball territory.

If we had a fair batted ball and a thrown ball hits them, we would have a blocked ball and award the runner 2 bases from the last base touched the time of the throw
