Advantages of Left-Handed Softball Players: Hitting, Pitching & Fielding

Does a LH softball player have any advantages in any aspect of the game (pitching, hitting, fielding)?

How do college coaches view LH players?

Sure ---
1. LH batters start closer to 1st base :)
2. It's harder for a RH hitter to hit a LH pitcher.
3. 2nd and 3rd are well suited fielding positions for a LH player.

College coaches base players on skills, character, and academics. They don't really care if they are RH or LH. However if she is a good LH pitcher or a LH slap hitter with speed  they might take notice.
