left handed softball outfielders

Question
should a left-handed girls' high school player be positioned in left field?  I think this is WRONG - should she not be placed on the right side of the diamond?  Thank you.

Answer
Whitney,

Whether a player is left handed or right handed really doesn't matter where they play in the outfield.  Most players, thus most outfielders are right handed.

An outfielder will be angling to the ball and it could be over either shoulder.  More important is the ability to track a fly ball, a strong arm, and decent speed.
