setting???

Question
I really want to be a setter...and I'm good at setting, just not aiming...but,I'm not quick enough when people tip it and i just lose the ball right away, what would i do if the ball gets tip??? do I block it,bump it or what???

Answer
Lace,

I really don't understand the question but I will try to give you some advice.  One, if you can't really aim when you are setting you really aren't a good setter.  You need to practice setting to a specific target area if you want to become a good setter.

If someone tips the ball and you are playing front row the defender behind you is usually responsible for the tip.  You, as the front row player, are supposed to put up a good block.  As a back row player you need to be in position to pass the ball up to the setter or opposite so they can set the ball.

Good luck.
