Diamond Edge Bamboo Fly Rods: History, Value & Information
Question
what can you tell me about diamond edge bamboo fly rod...all i know and can find out is they were made in st. louis and they went out of business in the 50s...i cant seem to find anyone that can tell me about them and what they are worth...i hope you can...thanks william

Diamond Edge rods were sold by Shapleigh Hardware in St. Louis. I 'm certain they did not make the rods, but cannot recall right now who did make them. Quality and value levels would be on a par with the mass production rods of Montague or Horrocks-Ibbotson...in fact, one of these firms is most liekly the maker of the rods. Collector interest is not high, but these rods do have value and individual examples can be decent fishing rods.
