Fiberglass

Question
Hi Joe,

I just wanted to know if you could tell me the manufacturer of a rod I have,
All I can read on it is : TPF -35 (or 85?) 8.5ft Pro Series and a signature that I
think says Ted Peck.. I don't need the value, but was wondering what wt of
line I should use with it?

Thanks

Pat.

Answer
Hi Pat,

Ted Peck appears to be a professional fisherman and sports writer from Wisconsin.  I assume you have a rod that he endorsed at some point in time.

Assuming this is a fly rod, and fiberglass, I would suggest a 7wt line as a good place to start.  If it is graphite, perhaps a 5wt or 6wt.  If you have access to several reels with different lines on them start with the 7wt and go up or down to see how the rod performs.

Thanks,  Joe
