Value of a Fenwick Feralite fly rod

Question

Fenwick Feralite ff91
Hi Rich,

I am in the process of trying to get a value on this fenwick feralite ff91.  It is 9' it also states on the pole it is 4 7/8 oz.  I think the serial number is e 9018.  It comes in two pieces and in mint condition.  It actually looks like it wasn't used.  It came in a fly rod tube.  Not sure what kind of tube.  I can send more pics of it, if you like.  We got this rod thru a donation to the non-profit organization i work for.  We would like to sell it online so I need to price it right.  I actually have 3 more fly rods I need to check a value on too.  But I can ask you about those later.

Answer
Ann Marie,

They still make rods  but probably not fiberglass check it out - http://www.fenwickfishing.com
there may be a toll free number
But don't ask them for value - even if they know  they have to see it or they will send you to a pay for evaluation expert.
They might know the date.

Value -they just don't command the values of bamboo. You might check ebay. The company isn't mentioned in my price book; Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book nor the history book, Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair .

I  am a bamboo man not fiberglass. Fiberglass is just not collected like bamboo. It was made from the 1950s to the 70s.

I have no specific history or books on fiberglass, I believe they don't exist, but here's two web sites that on fiberglass:
http://fiberglass-fly-rods.pbwiki.com/
http://www.fiberglassflyrodders.info/

If your rods are round , not bamboo may I suggest politely that I am not a good source for you.

Luck,
Mac
