Fishing rod.

In the early 80's I received a fishing rod from a older gentleman in Florida. He owned a bait and tackle shop in the mid west. Is there value that I can place on this rod ? Shakespeare wonder rod model # 1289 in mint shape I have the sock and metal tube. Thanks,Paul

The 1289 was the model for both a casting rod and a fly rod.

Casting rod $40-50
Flyrod $50-$75

Maybe higher in a good auction.

Your rod is benefiting from its condition and completeness (bag and tube). With out the bag and tube in used condition the rod would be $10-15.

Note: the greater collector interest is in American custom built split bamboo fly rods (100s to 1000s).
