Vintage Fly Rod Information: Fiberglass & Bamboo Resources

I collect mostly fiberglass flyrods some bamboo. I can only find a few books with good information about these types of rods. The main book is Fiberglass fly rods by Victor R. Johnson. Is there another something else available. Maybe a value guide or something?

Hi Matt,

I tend to specialize in bamboo and wooden rods (or at least I used to) but the fiberglass rods and the steel rods are definitely vintage and they are popular so I spend time trying to find more and more data on them myself.  I am not aware of a good value guide, but I may not have found it yet.  Victor Johnson's books cover the evolution of fiberglass fly rods.  I have seen some fairly good documents on the web that describe specific manufacturers and their rods; and, of course, sites like fiberglassflyrodders.com do a lot to help preserve information about these rods.

In other words, I haven't found it yet.  There is even less on the steel rods.  I am always looking for additional information on vintage rods.  If you find interesting items or books, please let me know so I can add them to my reference materials.
