Guadalupe River Fishing: Best Baits, Lures & Tips for Beginners

Question
How do you get started.I am starting to fish in the Guadalupe river? Which lures work best and for what fish? New to this, any info will be helpful. Can you recomend any videos or books that will help. Thanks Johnny.

Answer

Green Sunfish
My God, Johnny!  You just stepped into my area of expertise!  The Guadalupe is my favorite river to fish!  O.K. I'm going to try and help you as best as I possibly can.  My "go-to" bait  for the river has always and will always be a yellow H n' H single colorado blade spinnerbait.  Next, is three or four inch floating gold Rapala.  After that is a Rebel Crawfish.  Those were for bass.  I will now move on to panfish.  My  first choice is the Storm lures Scatback.  Then there is anything from the Bass Pro Shops Uncle Buck's Panfish Creature line of baits.  Then a good all around bait that catches everything in the water is a small Roostertail in-line spinnerbait.
