What is it worth

Question
I have a Wright & McGill Eagle Claw 4 piece 7'6" Glass rod and I would like to know how much it is worth. Modle No.m4FRU spin-fly Combination

Answer
Cassidy,
It is not vintage nor collectable - so not worth much.
Strike one -it's fiberglass - collectors aren't seeking them .
Here's fiberglass information sites

http://fiberglass-fly-rods.pbwiki.com/
http://www.fiberglassflyrodders.info/
Be wary of people who say the rod is worth allot but don't back it up with cash.

Strike two - it's a casting /fly rod which has never worked very well.

Might check ebay

Strike 3 - it's not in the price / collectors books such as Antique %26 Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification %26 Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.
For example Homel gives the following  Wright %26 McGill fiberglass rods, 2 sections, 1 tip  the  value for poor, good, excellent condition respectively:
"Paramount" baitcasting rod 6' (2/1)                   $35   90   175
"All American" fiberglass fly rod 8 1/2' (2/1) c.1952    10   30   65

If you got $50 for it that would be a good deal.

Luck,
Mac
