bait for carp

Question
Just recently my brother and a friend of ours found a lake in Rome, Ga. that has a vast amount of carp residing in it.  my ? is what is a good bait for carp.  the lake is a little' smaller than a football field but is full of carp no smaller than 2 1/2 feet (YES!! THE SMALLEST I'VE SEEN IS AROUND 2 1/2 FEET)

the best all around general bait is plain ol sweet corn, fresh out of the fan,,,,2nd best is boiled field corn,,,,,,,boil for about 1.5 hours, or until the kernels get soft,,,,,
other good baits are tightly packed white bread..( very tightly packed....compress heavily,,,,
