Mitchell fishing reel

Question
Hi Robert
I am attempting to accurately date a Mitchell spinning reel I have. The serial number is B03005 it is what became the 300 model.
My reel is a half bell line pick up, it has a roung crank handle aluminun painted black, it has a boomerang shaped anti reverse lever. The ser.# is stamped on the body of the reel and it is also made in france so stamped . on the foot of the where it would mount to the pole it is stamped 06 in very small numbers.
this reel would rate a 9 in all catagories . Any help on this dating process would be appreciated
                                          Thanks
                                              Doug

Answer
Doug,

I believe your reel is 1940s or early 1950s. But, there is another site that has better experts on the Mitchell reels that can narrow down the date better:

http://orcaonline.org/reel_talk.htm

If you provide detailed photos that will help as well.

Bob

keep me in mind if you have any old fishing lures for sale.
