St Croix Fly fishing Rod

Question

St Croix Telescopic Fl
I have an old St Croix Fiberglass Telescopic Fly Rod. I have tried to make out the writing on it. It looks like Park Fjillo ( could be wrong) the numbers on it are WO-2-100
or 10G not sure. It has the reel that looks like it is made on it. Any idea of when is was made or the value?
Thanks
HL

Answer
Hi HL,

I think the writing says Park Falls which is where St Croix is located...Park Falls, Wisconsin.  I also could be wrong.

Their telescopic rods entered the market in 1956 and stayed until 1993, and they had the "Whip-Out" model as the main product.  I assume this is what "WO" stands for on the rod?  These rod swere made in lengths up to 20 feet.  This one may be a 10 foot version?

I can't pin down a date of manufacture and I don't have a value for you. I do know that St Croix rods have loyal followers and users and when I lived in Wisconsin used rods went for decent prices like $50-$75 range for St Croix.  I really don't know what this one might be worth.

Thanks,  Joe
