Which takles do you suggest would be best for beginners in bass-fishing?

I would suggest a medium weight spinning outfit.  I'll tell you what, you can go to your nearest tackle shop, sporting goods store, or Wal-Mart and ask the man/woman working in the fishing section and they should help set you up with what you need for your specific area.
