fishing bait box

Question
recently, while cleaning out my uncle's attic I came across a brass bait box for fishing. IT looks like it would crickets, beatles, meal worms or some such insect.
it measure 9"x4"x1.5"there are about 300 symetrical holes on both sides. there is a 1"x.5" glass window on it's side. it has 2 holes on it's side for screws. it is marked wu29202 ffk 9 49 and wag164 fpk 10 49 on its side. it has some kind of netting on the inside of the box covering the holes.
I live in conn. and am retired, I would not mind driving to an area in greater hartford, waterbury area to have your expert view this piece

       thank you,

Answer
Hi Rich,

Yep, sounds like a nice bait box.  I don't have any reference material on bait boxes, but given the size and assuming it is still in good condition, I would guess the value to be in the $25-$50 range.

Next time you are in Hartford, locate a couple of antique stores and see if you can get a better estimate from someone who can inspect the box.

Thanks,  Joe
