QUESTION: hi, i had some questions i wanted to ask you about catfish fishing. what size line should i use when catfish fishing, what in your opinion is the best bait for catching catfish, and what size hook should i use for catching catfish?

ANSWER: Well to further help you I need to know what kind of catfish you're after.  Are you after channel catfish, blue catfish, or flathead catfish?  You may answer in a follow-up question.

For channel cats I have always used 12 lb. mono.  I also like live nightcrawlers cut in three.  My favorite hooks are size 8 2X treble hooks by Eagle Claw and #2 O'Shaughnessy saltwater hook by Mustad. Hope this helped.  You can also chum up the area by throwing chopped up hot dogs into the area you are gonna fish.
