When is the jig bite or the crank bait action gonna happen in the harbor?

Hi Mike,

The water temps dropped quite a bit this week but are still in the low 60's and no trout and salmon to be found near shore.  But the action moved from 200' into 60-80'.  That said, it looks like it may go NE again tomorrow.

If the water temps were right, the run could get started as soon as next weekend but I don't see that setting up the way things look.  Otherwise, the 4 year olds will start showing up by the middle of the month either way.  It just wont be good if the water is warm.   They are driven by "photo period" and will stage soon no matter what the water temps are.  

Its funny because it was colder than normal through June, and then it really heated up and got the water too warm.  We had some great fishing from April 1st through the second week of July.  Its been slow since.  Got a few Smallies and perch this morning to keep things interesting till the Kings show up.
