50s...60s SilaFlex Spinning Rods

Question
I have 2 older spinning rods...2 piece...just over 7' tip to tip with cork butts...Metal Ferrules...Any idea of the model number for the blanks???  My Uncle gave them to me in the latre 60's...Trying to pin down the origin and maybe value...Thanks...Ted

Answer
Hi Ted,

The Browning Silaflex rods were very good rods in that era and have some collector value. I know that fly rods can get a pretty good price on E-bay.

If those are in good condition, I'd say they may be worth at least $50 to $100.  Maybe more if they are in tubes.

Yes, you are correct that they are probably from the 50's or early 60's.  As far as what model they are, I couldn't help with that.

Another expert on this site, Joe Douglas, could probably help you more with details.

Those are nice rods!

Good fishing,

Marc
