Granpus rod

Question

1940 rod
I have a 1940's Grampus rod model #503 in good condition. It is in the original packaging, including a paper sleeve with the name of the previous owner on it, General Charles H. Bonesteel. There is some deterioration in the finish of the metal and some small damage, but it is not serious.

I was wondering if you could place a value on it, considering any possible historic value.

Answer
Barbra,
Collectors value is null. Unfortunately there is nothing written in English on Japanese rods that I have been able to find.
I see three that finished on ebay for under $20.
However maybe someone who knew the General might want it for more and I have no experience in that arena.
