Heddon Black B Rod

Question
Would like to know the value of a Heddon Black Beauty Rod.  This rod is #17 2 Fer 81/2 long H 1/2 oz.  Split Bamboo.  Could not find a date on it.  Looks brand new has tube case and sleeve for rods.  Has two tips.

The price book:
Antique & Collectable Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000)
add about 30% for age of book

The Heddon model #17 in 8 1/2  feet,  lists with 3 sections / 2 tips
in Homel for $75, 165 and 300  for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

I could probably do better.

Most people over rate the conditions of their rods. Have someone who has looked at a few rods, evaluate it. I don't charge , most do not. If it looks brand new, what is the color of the cork handle ?

The # 17 was made from 1930 to 1954 according to Bamboo Rod Restoration Handbook by Michael Sinclair. You can find both of these books at many libraries. Sinclair can help you age it.

I would need pictures and detailed descriptions of the labels to age it.

Not sure what "2 Fer"  or "H 1/2 oz" means.
