Fly Fishing

Question
iight ive been trout fishin my whole life and have always used a spinning rod n reel combo n rooster tails, but i just recently bought a fly rod. how do u put line on it, just like any other tie it on and reel in or what?

Answer
Hello Tyler...and thanks for using AllExperts
Yes, put line on your fly-fishing reel just as you would on a spinning reel. You might also want to consider having one or two additional reels or spools that can be easily swapped when conditions call for a different type of fly line. For instance, I'd recommend having what I call weight-forward line as your primary type. With it you can present your patterns below the surface and to some extent on the surface too. Another spool or reel with sinking line might be just what's needed to go really deep with nymphs.
