Question about Lures & Rods

Question
Lures & Rod
Lures & Rod
We are moving and I have been contemplating selling some of my dads (and my own) fishing tackle.  I have several Heddon River Runts lures and others of the same vintage from 1950 and before.  I also have a H-I Tonka Prince Fly rod in excellent condition, plus a fly reel from around 1950 (picture is attached).  Can you tell me a ballpark price of what I should ask?  Thanks - JK

P.S.  I have held back some of my favorites for memories of fishing trips with my dad.

Answer
Hi Jack,

If the Heddon baits are plastic they will probably be worth $5-$10 unless you have a rare color.  Wood ones with glass eyes can get up to $25-$30 in good condition.  I'd check them out on e-Bay.  The values in books sound pretty exciting, but e-Bay is reality.

The HI rod could be worth $100-$150 if it is in good condition.

I am not the expert on old tackle.  I'd run this past Joe Douglas on this site.  He will have more information.

Thanks and good luck,

Marc
