Identifying a Vintage Scharffenberg Fly Fishing Rod - Information & History

My husband's mother found a fly fishing pole (2 pc) with Scharffenberg on it.  Is there any info you can tell us about it?  Thank you.

Not much.  I don't find any listings in any of my books with this name.
I assume this is a fiberglass rod and was originally made with only two pieces.

I did find, via an internet search, a reference to a family named Scharfenberg who owned a hardware store in Richfield.  It is common for independent hardware stores to have rods made with their name on them to sell as a "private label" rod series.  This could be a possibility.

It is also possible the rod has the name of the original owner on it instead of the manufacturer.
