Trailmaster 4-Piece Spinning Rod with Tube & Pouch - Excellent Condition
Question
Trailmaster, 4TMS-61/2. Hey Rich, Thanks in advance for your opinion, much apprc'd. This 4pc spinning, yellow cloth pouch, cork handle w/green rubber butt cap, gold anodiz'd alum reelseats and nut with chartruese anodz'd butt blank cover w/threads for reel seating. Rod is brown w/light specs(fleck you could say)I'm no rod guru but I think it's glass. Gold thread wrapped eyes, lure keeper just above uppercork handle piece. Absolutely wonderful cond. excpt for no cap or strap on green tube w/bare alum ends. Tell me what your thinking on this w-m!! I have several old rods that have a "honeycomb" type upper and lower rod butt. They may be fiberglass(not sure)but have a flatsided, pentagon/hexagon shape. Very stout, sectional. Do these sound like something your familliar with.
Answer
Chester,
If there is a value to casting rods, I have not found a good place to sell them. I have not been able to give them away to tell you the truth.
Good luck , sorry But I don't have much information because history books on casting rods probably don't exist. I am a fly fisher and a bamboo fly rod man myself.
Honeycomb might be Calcutta (India) bamboo, which was used to make rods until Tonkin (China) came into use in the 20s.
Good luck
Mac
