Question
I have a freshwater/lake fishing question....what is the best way to rig crank baits, rubber worms, and spinner baits?  Should I use a leader and snap swivel or just attatch bait to the line with a polomar knot (no leaders and snap swivels).  Any help is truly appreciated...thanks.

Answer
Hello Mick-
Generally speaking you will not need any extra hardware (swivels, snaps, clips) when bass fishing. I do occasionally use a swivel about 6 to 8 inches from  my bait when I am fishing a weightless worm. This is due to the fact that line twist can be a problem with this rig, especially when you are using spinning tackle.
The only situation I utilize a leader in is when I am fishing with braided line in open water. Because the braid is more visible under water, I add a short fluorocarbon or mono leader to disguise the presentation.

Thanks for the question and good luck with all of your angling endeavors!
