How to through the string from a fishing rod

Hi Thomas,
     My name is Sam and i bought a fishing rod to go fishing because we live near the lake, but the problem is that i have never fished before so i do not know ho to through the line from the fishing rod.  If you could give me little tips on how and what wrist actions to do.

Casting is one of those things that it is easier to see and copy then to explain. My advice would be to go the the lake and watch people casting and ask for a little help. I'm sure you can get someone to help you. You also might try watching some fishing shows and watch what they do when casting. You are just starting on a great hobby and there are a lot of people that will help when you are new to the sport.
