Questionhell i just purchased a Heddon fly rod i would like to find out when it was made and some idea what it is worth.
Heddon pole
#8457 mark 4 8 1/2 ft 2 pcs
controlled flex action
for weight 8 lines
the pole is in very good condition
it came with a ocean city # 76 fly reel made in Philly.
Iam planning to fish with this pole, i have not fly fished in 35 years and want to get back in to it.
Any info you can give me would be great, thank you so very much

AnswerI would need more specifics to be more accurate but here you go :
Heddon made a fiber glass rod (you are asking a bamboo man) Mark I - IV. My book says 7 - $45 for all of those, depending upon condition . I assume the rod has round (fiberglass) not flat sides (bamboo).
Fiberglass lacks the collectors interest that bamboo does.
