replacing fishing line

Question
When replacing fishing line on a closed face reel
Do you feed the reel from the top of the spool or from the bottom.

Answer
Hi Fred,
A closed face spincasting reel is filled just like an open face version.  You place the spool of line so that when it come off of the spool it will be picked up in the same direction in which the spool is revolving on the reel.  In other words, if, when looking at the reel from behind, the spool is turning clockwise, then the filler spool should be placed so that the line is spooling off in the clockwise position as it is facing you.  You can lay it on the floor/ground for this application, or have it held in front of you by another person.

Hope this has helped.
