Montague

Question
I recently purchase 1 lot of fishing equipment from an elderly mans estate auction. In the lot was 1 Hollow Montague fishing rod in mint condition. However I can not find a value or anyone who has one listed that is 6.5 in length.  The pole measures 6'5" in length and appears to be glass or fiberglass.  Also in the lot was one Heddon 230 rod and reel, 4 old Shakspear reels almost in mint condition and misc old lures and wooden bobbers. I was going fishing this week and if they aren't worth anything, I was thinking about using them. Could you help me out. why is my pole marked 6.5 and there is no others listed that length and what mite they be worth.
Thanks
Twyla

Answer
Twyla,

The montague fiberglass rod is fairly common, $20-30. I cant tell from your description if its a trolling rod or bait casting.

Heddon 230 Reel is $10-30 depending on condition.

Need more details on the Shakespeare reels - models, markings.

If you send photos of the lures I can help with ID and value. If the lures have original boxes that can help value.
