at what water temperature...

Question

thanks,

Answer
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get to your question, as my mailbox has been flooded and I've been overwhelmed some with midterms.

Bass don't really become very active until the spawn when most strikes are strictly territorial.  In Pennsylvania there are also laws regulating fishing during this period (catch and release).  The largemouth spawn in PA doesn't typically start until late April-May or whenever water temperatures start to push up past 55 degrees or so.  Activity, though, is largely based on water temperature throughout the year and bass tend to be most active while water is in the range from 75-low 80's.

Again, I'm quite sorry for the delay in response, if you would like to follow up or have any other questions, feel free to mail me again.

Thanks for asking,
Chris
