Blackskirt Spinnerbait

Question
When do you use a blackskirt spinnerbait?

Answer
Hey.  I'm really sorry it's taken me so long to get to your question.  I haven't even had the opportunity to check my mail in nearly a week.  Anyhow, onto your question.
Spinnerbaits, like any lure should be matched to conditions.  I like to fish black with either silver or sparkles of sorts in clear water.  They're great when you need something to cover water quickly when you notice bass feeding largely on schools of shad, alewives, etc.  Matching blades is important as well.  Seeing that they work best in clear water, I suggest fishing them with two willow blades to get the most flash possible.

I like fishing them either just under the surface or just over weed beds, depending where fish are holding.  Spinnerbaits are super versatile and can be fished just about anywhere, though.  You can take the same ideas and methods you'd use to fish them over weedbeds and apply them over a flooded orchard or around areas littered with windfall.
I hope I've been some help.  If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask again.  Good luck on the water and let me know how you do.

Good luck and thanks for asking,
Chris
