Abercrombie & Fitch Silaflex Rod & Reel Combo - Value Assessment

Hello Joe,

I've spent hours on the Internet trying to find the above rod/reel combo to no avail.  Ugh.  I'm trying to find a value as I am selling this combo and can't find another one like it on-line anywhere.  The rod is 6' 7", fiberglass, 2 piece.  The rod states: Silaflex Magnum # A.F. 15 Customized For A&F.  The reel has a green plate with the A&F Logo.  Below that on the reel: Monogram #rights reserved# New York - Chicago - San Francisco; Abercrombie & Fitch; 200 SIX; Fresh Water.  You can view the pics here:

Hi Karen,

Well...I don't know either.  But, I believe this rod dates from the 1955-1965 era.  It sounds like it may be a limited run of rods...the 200 could be the run size...and obviously came with a matching reel.

You may want to post questions on the www.fiberglassflyrodders.com discussion forum to find more data.  This site is frequented by those who prefer glass rods and they are pretty well versed in the various models and special runs of glass rods.

You might even find a buyer.
