tube lures

Question
Hi Marc,
I read your article on tubes in the In Fisherman magazine. Do you think this technique could be used for salmon that have started up the rivers? Also, I have had a difficult time finding center balanced jig heads anywhere and wondered if you have any recommendations?
We do well on salmon in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with Thundersticks, Rapalas, etc. I am always looking for new ways to fish and would like to give this a try.
Thanks,
Wes

Answer
Hi Wes,

They do work for migrating salmon but don't like snag filled rivers.

It is impossible to find the center balanced heads which is why I had to make them myself.  The other problem is weak hooks.  Thats why I use a saltwater grade hook.

I plan on having them available for purchase.  This article came up on me quick and I don't have things in place right now and I have a family member in the hospital right now.

I will keep this All Experts inquiry and let you know when I have a sales system in place.  They will definitely work in the UP.

Thanks and good luck,

Marc
