Vintage Sears Fiberglass Fishing Rod - Identification & Value (1955-1965)

Hi Joe,

I have bought a bundle of vintage fishing rods and was tring to get some background or history on the rod. First rod is a "SEARS SOLID FIBER GLASS BOAT/SPINNING MED. ACTION 8' LENGTH model 311.40258. I would like some information on age and todays value of the rod.

Hi Steve,

Probably from the 1955-1965 era.  Likely made by another company for Sears (Sears did not make rods) to sell.  Possible makers would include Horton Mfg, Orchard Industries and Wright-McGill.

Value on these rods is not high...perhaps the $10-$40 range depending on model and actual condition.

I have soem myself that we used as kids.  They work great and last forever so put it to good use.
