Information on Actionrod Model 5214 (Patent Pending)

I have my grandfather rod, model 5214 underneth the model number it has "Patent Pending". What can you tell me about this rod?

I'm really not the expert on old rods on this site.  I'm going to defer you to Joe Douglas on this site.

I do know that it was probably from the 1950's.  Its an odd item that may be worth $100-$150.  Joe will have more info.
