Hi Robert, We have a lovely old rod that we would like some info on. Inside the reel mount it says:
ACTION-ROD
ORCHARD INDUSTRIES INC.
DETROIT 12, MICH.
PAT.NO.1920966 OTHER PAT.PEND.
It looks like bakelite?, cork handle, red strip in bakelite,5'total length.
Can you tell us when it was made, any info about the rod and how much they are worth? Thanks so much, Sally and John

your rod was made during the 1950s, they are popular with collectors, particularly multi colored handles. Yours sounds like basic white and red stripped rod.

Condition will impact the value...collectors are looking for excellent to mint rods. Also, the rod should have an original cloth bag.

They run $30 to $75 range.
