Ventura Fishing License: Requirements & How to Obtain

All anglers 16 years of age and older are required to have a valid California fishing license. Licenses can be purchased online, at any Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) license sales outlet, or by phone at (800) 565-1458.

In addition to a fishing license, you may also need a Ventura County fishing permit. Permits are required for fishing in certain areas of the county, such as the Ventura Harbor and the Santa Clara River. Permits can be purchased at any DFW license sales outlet or online at the Ventura County Parks website.
