catfishing

I am entering a competition in Texas, where I will go fishing in a lake. I heard that at the contest, they will put more than 1,000 catfish in the water. Do you know what I could do, (bait,techniques,good spots) to catch the larger catfish?

Hi Harrison,

Big baits catch bigger fish and the best holes or worst snags will be holding the big ones.  I'd say cut chubs or sucker minnows.  The stink baits work well, but I have had better success on a chunk of fresh shad or chub.
