Hardy Palakona De Luxe Bamboo Rod: Identification & Value

Question
I would like to know the date and any other info you might offer about my bamboo trout rod:

Hardy "Palakona De Luxe,8',4.5 ozs.,3 piece, number E.87624,cork handle, restored by Thomas & Thomas, light blond bamboo

Answer
Steve,
Price Book:
Antique & Collectible  Fishing Rods: Identification & Value Guide Homel, Dan. 1997 (2nd edition 2000) add about 30% for age of book.

Homel gives the Hardy 8  model "Palakona Deluxe" trout fly rod(c 1935) with an extra tip, 3 sections the  value of  $95, 200 and $395 for poor, good, excellent condition respectively.

I bought on ebay, a cd with pdfs of dates and history of Hardy. I also have copies of the information from the Hardy and Grays Canadian web site that confirms the information on the DVD (they took it down). It is not something I would take into court but I found it to be reliable information.

E.87624 according to the above was made in 1953.

Hardy History:  http://www.articlealley.com/article_634978_32.html
Hardy is still in business in Alnwick, England - on the web:
http://fly.hardyfishing.com/en-gb/home/

Rod values depend on condition but you might sell this for more, since it was restored by a well known company. If it is still in the like new condition, for as much as 500.
Luck,
Mac
