Old fishing pole?

Mr. Marc- my neighbor is willing to sell me an antique metal fishing pole and a reel. The reel is Atlas made in Kalamazoo Mi. Probably 1920s-1940s? That's my guess. But the pole I've never seen one. It's like a 6ft pole, all steel includeing eyes. Yet it's sensitive! Any idea if worth anything? I was thinking the reel was worth $20?

Hi Larry,

There may be a few steel rods out there that may be worth $50-$100.  But most of them will go in the $10 to $30 range depending on the condition.  Un fortunately, they don't have a huge collector value, but are a great piece of angling history and look good over a mantle or next to a prized trophy fish on the wall.  

The combo is probably worth $40-$50.
