Sage Fly Rod

Mr Morrison,

I recently bought a Sage Graphite 590 MAB, thats what is written on the rod.  My question is, what is the value of this flyrod?  I can't find any information on this model, thats the only thing written on the rod.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tracy - There is no Sage series fly rod named MAB.  If it were a Sage factory rod it would be labeled as to what series blank it was.  What you most likely have is a Sage blank that was custom built by someone.  The MAB may well be their intials.  But who knows.  Without knowing what series the blank is it's hard to know how much it is worth.  The quality of the build is also an important factor.  A custom build Sage is probably worth between $25 and $150...depending on the above mentioned factors.  The 590 means it is a 5wt 9 foot rod.  I hope this helps.
