Pequea Bamboo Rod Value & History: Heddon Cane Rods (1930s-1940s)

Question
I have a 2 piece bamboo rod that measures about 5'6".  It has an emblem with an indians head.  It says "quality supreme all american labor...Pequea Tribe".  then handwritten it says " Genuine tonkin bamboo #10300".  Can you tell me how old or how much it is worth?

Thanks

Dan

Answer
Hi Dan - The Pequea label rods were made by Heddon (large name cane rod maker) as a store brand for J.S. Johnson depatment stores. They were made from the mid 30's to the 40's.  You said it is a 2 piece rod and at 5'6" it's either been broken (if it's a fly rod) or it's a spinning rod.   If it's been broekn the value is zero.  If not it's worth $50 to $100 at best.  I hope that helps.
